For those of you in Midland, TX who are big Jeep Grand Cherokee fans, you'll be excited to know that the SUV just reached a major milestone. Employees recently celebrated the production of the 5-millionth vehicle at Chrysler's Jefferson North Assembly Plant, and we have all of the latest details.

Cheers rang loud as Scott Garberding, vice president of manufacturing for Chrysler, addressed the employees during the ceremony saying, "The fact that we're even standing here says a lot. You guys have stayed focused through the tough times. Our challenge now is to keep that focus - to keep this vehicle at the top of the industry."1

This production milestone is quite the accomplishment for the automaker, especially considering that the Jefferson North facility was in danger of being shut down not too long ago. To keep it open, 1,100 more employees were hired to sustain the production of the Grand Cherokee.

The model is also significant because after Chrysler recovered from bankruptcy during the auto market crash, the Grand Cherokee was the first model to be reintroduced. Since then, the SUV has gone on to win more awards than any other model within its segment. The 5-millionth vehicle, a silver 2014 Grand Cherokee, is a true symbol of hope for the automaker and all its employees.

If you haven't had the opportunity to take a Grand Cherokee for a spin, then now is the time to do so! We encourage you to visit our All American Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Midland showroom to schedule a test drive at your earliest convenience. Our staff looks forward to showing you around and giving you an idea of what the new Jeep lineup is all about, so come see us soon!
