The Dodge brand is one that’s recognized as offering folks stylish models, but it’s more than dapper vehicles. Namely, the American automaker is concerned with safety, and that’s being proven in spades with the company’s most recent recall.
To be specific, the Chrysler Group is recalling a selection of 2013 Dodge Dart units due to a potential problem with the vehicles’ transmission output shafts. The American automaker is announcing that the aforementioned parts are subject to fracture as a result of their two-stage forging process. Though that method has since been replaced, those that were assembled in that manner are likely to fracture.
That heightened potential for a fracture in the transmission output shafts increases the likelihood of an accident as the affected vehicles experience powertrain damage. Naturally, that’s a problem that both the American automaker and its Dodge brand division would like to rectify immediately.
