Every automaker is working for cleaner, smarter, more efficient vehicles, because that's where the world is going. Jeep brand and Chrysler are no exception to this and Chrysler just may have found a solution that works for them.
How do you keep power and luxury while improving fuel economy and decreasing CO2 emissions? Chrysler's Stop-and-Start system is the answer. The 2015 Jeep Cherokee and 200 Chrysler's engines, the Pentastar and Tigershark, are receiving a bit of a pick me up with the system while the Chrysler remains a 4 cylinder and the Cherokee remains a V6.
The system works through a motor which is said to be able to start a vehicle in a third of a second. It detects when the vehicle is coming to a stop and shuts it off. Then, when the driving lifts a foot from the break the car turns back on with all of the accessories intact due to a powerful battery.
